On October 5th, 2025, the Artificial Life Institute officially launched in Kyoto. 40 visionaries from around the world gathered at Research House Kyoto in search of an alternative path: artificial life (ALife), AI inspired by life itself.
The event featured discussions on organic alignment, symbiotic AI for digital democracy, and Japan’s unique philosophical contributions to AI research. Panelists included Audrey Tang, Joi Ito, David Ha, and Banjo Yamauchi.
